The near future.

April 19 – 25 : NYC. = Neon Trees, Korean bath house, Friends, and Happiness

April 26 – May 1 : Las Vegas.  Not my favorite city, but at least there is a Cafe Rio.

May 7 : Pavement + The National. = Really? Pavement got back together?  I hope they let National play a long set.

May 12 – 15 : French Riviera. = Pool and beach bumming.  All day long.

June 7 : Jonsi. = Will it be better than Sigur Ros live? I’m doubtful, but curious.

Really. I can’t complain.

Couldn’t I just… not?

Filed under: Uncategorized — irenejk @ 6:00 pm

The answer is, Of course I could.  But then what would I do?  I’m referring to the fact that despite my meager scores on the GRE, BYU decided to let me back there for the MA… as in Masochism Masters.  Don’t get me wrong, I really do love those professors.  I just can’t really decide if this is what I want to do – I mean… move back to Provo?  Can I do that? CAN I?

School. Not choice #1.

Other options? No.

This puts me in a difficult position.

Couldn’t I just get paid for funny things to happen to me and then I just write about them on my blog?  Like how segways are actually REALLY fun?  Or about how I sat across from this goth couple on the train and they didn’t exchange ANY words to each other and just crazily hit buttons on their cell phones?  Literally. It was at least 15 minutes on the metro.  ZERO WORDS.  He did show her his screen once and she smiled. Then she went back to hitting buttons; then she kissed him on the cheek.  It was so weird.  So then I thought maybe they’re playing some sort of interactive role playing game together on their phones… but even THEN wouldn’t you say stuff like, “Hey! Stop killing my wizard!” or “Your dragon is throwing up on my princess.”  Something like that? See? Wouldn’t you pay me to keep talking like this?  Or pay me to stop? invent dialogue between role-playing goths?

Sigh. The upside is that I get to leave all my troubles behind and take a vacation from my hard workaholic life and go to New York and Vegas for a couple weeks.  Well technically I’ll be “working” then too, so my life really is just work work work… one segway after another.
